I live in S. Ohio and have kept blue / S. black and N. balck...for educational shows. i agree, i've never had too much trouble, even the wild caught adults. you just need to give them a big cage with a very good hinding place. with the adults i've caught i used to keep a towel draped over the front of the cage b/c they are so nervous. if they see you they strike against the glass..the key is making them feel secure. the adults usually will take mice. the babies, in my experince...seem to prefer lizards. you may have to play "scenting" games to get them started.
