Be very careful with human heat pads...they are not designed to be left on continually and several house fires have resulted as a result of using them the way you described. Instead, I would recommend a laminated type of heat pad designed for reptiles connected to a quality thermostat such as a helix.
:Thankx alot, someone finally wanted to help me :)i have a thermometer on each side of the tank.the heating pad is a home heating pad ( i purchased a home heating pad b/c i like them better b/c they have ajustable heat switch on the outside)but the heating pad is under the tank not inside and it has cardboard on top of it in between the pad and the tank
