In Reply to: Is it against the TOS to refer ppl away from Melissa Kaplan? posted by PHScales on May 06, 2003 at 20:29:29:
So there's a lot of anti-Melissa posts huh? Rotflmao! Now I'm not so disappointed. Why doesn't she realize that she has a problem that causes so many ppl to dislike her? So she IS the moderator for the ig forum here at KS? Well, thanks for clearing this up and can you post your email address or something? I would have contacted you but I don't have any other way of contacting you (the moderator). And in the future I'll make sure not to make it a personal attack. Is it ok just to say don't listen to a word she says? Thanks,
Josh
:BINGO
:I get accused constantly of removing anti-Melissa posts.. But posts aren't removed unless they are personal attacks. If the title of that post had been different, I wouldn't have pulled it.
:Just to clear the air, here, folks... I was the technical editor for Melissa's book. BUT, I agree that there are some things in her caresheets for some species (other than igs) that need updating/changing. So, I have no problem with folks pointing out that for species X there is a better caresheet, go to www.xyz.com instead... But personal attacks against anyone aren't going to stay, period.
:Thanks for letting me get this clear! Any questions? Send them to me directly, please... not here..

::I think the whole way you went about "refering people away" was quite untactful. There are certainly better ways to "refer" people away than saying she "doesn't know jack." Of course, you are always welcome to your opinion, but it is better received when voiced in a more tactful manner. That is probably why your post was deleted.
