Boil on neck -Southern Painted

My Southern Painted Turtle, Buddy, has a large boil on his neck, he's had it for about 2 months. It grew very fast, I was hoping it would go away but it looks like I will have to do something. Any advice? I have a picture but I don't know how to attach it.
