Kevin:
Sorry for not responding sooner as I have not only been busy but often forget to check this
OHS site.

Just went to my boa sites in the Hyatt Resevoir area and checked a couple of other sites on the way down highway 66 to Ashland. Beside the
7 boas found up at Hyatt, there was a thin gopher snake under a board at around the 4200 ft. level and found 4 Sharptails at my old site near the southwest end of Emigrant Lake. Back in 1998 or 1999, I spoke to a local land owner and nearby there are N. Pac. Rattlers, Cal Kings, and he has seen one Mt. Kingsnake on his property which is adjacent to the reservoir shoreline.

In speaking to another land owner up old Siskiyou highway (99), they have also seen rattlers and Cal. Kings. Cannot recall if they mentioned seeing Mt. Kings. I was of course searching for Sharptails and found some along the railroad tracks at about the 3000 ft. level and at Callahan's Lodge at 4000 ft. Also found a Ringneck along the railroad tracks one year.

If you wish to hook up some time, I can show you where I have observed a number of critters and/or where I know other species have been observed. Richard F. Hoyer

: Didn't find anything. There were some suitable habitats, but they were all on private land. The only two things we found were an ensatina and a fence lizard. You can see the field collecting forum for pictures of them. Does anyone know where is good place down in southern oregon to flip rocks(all put back in there original places ofcourse). I would like to find a zonata or cal king. A desert striped whipsnake or yellowbellied racer would be neat too. I am really just trying to find something different from the snakes I have found up here(Portland area). If anyone knows of any neat places besides the gorge, please email me. I don't expect anyone to give away their secret spots, I would just like a decent place to look.
: Thanks,
: Kevin
: PS- Please email me if you have any tips.
