Richard:
I live in Ashland. The valley I was referring to was the Colestien, over the Siskyou pass and West of the I-5 corridor. I came across a specimen of C. bottae last August about 1 mile West of Hyatt lake, along the sno-park access road. It had unfortunately been killed by a vehicle or perhaps stepped upon by a free-roaming cow. I found it on the road and its head was smashed. There were no other outward signs of trauma. If you are ever down this way it would be a pleasure and an honor to meet you.
Regards,
Eric

: My primary study sites in S. Oregon for a study of the Sharp-tailed Snake were in the Central Point to Emigrant Lake region and I have a C. bottae study site near Hyatt Lake east of Ashland. Do you live in that vicinity or further north and is the valley to which you refer east or west of the I-5 corridor?

:Eric:I was reading through the posts and wanted to mentioned how much I enjoyed that article regarding the rubber boas and sharp-tails. It reminded me of my youth, as there is a valley down this way with a pocket of populations of rubber boas, sharptails and ringnecks. Thank You,
::Eric
