thank you for your response tom, ive been looking all over and found no info on feild permits. i do have a NJ resident fishing liscence but how does that relate to disturbing wild habitat and/or feild collecting? from what i can understand new jersey doesnt offer any form of permit for this.

Note: i dont feild collect reptiles i prefer to see them in the wild but i do handle wild herps for photographing/study. my concern is if a ranger see's me holding a reptile in the middle of a swamp its all the same to him and i just want to do everything the legal way.

any help is apreciated
