I checked with the NJ Div of wildlife and they informed me that only NJ zoo's and nature centers are allowed to keep 'normal' cornsnakes. Oh well, I guess my 10 years experience with these snakes (while living in another state), plus 2 years working in one of the top zoos in the country, along with being a well educated science teacher does not matter at all.....Apparently the state of NJ feels that ignorance is bliss, especially in regards to conservation/education. Its okay, I'll just consider another species for a pet/education. However, it is a shame since CB corn snakes are easily maintained and rarely have any problems, PLUS they make great pets for first time snake owners!

DOES NJHS DO ANYTHING TO TRY AND HAVE THIS LAW CHANGED?
