Here's some help,
: Iguana -- legal, but be sure you want it! *
: Nile monitor -- fine
: leopard gecko -- fine
: Mali uromastyx -- fine
: red eared sliders -- fine but can't buy it in NJ
: painted turtles -- same as above * (if it's an eastern)
: cooters -- same as above
: box turtles -- same as above
: sulcuta tortoise -- same as above
: redfoot tortoise -- same as above
: african clawed frogs -- fine
: oregon newts -- fine
: bullfrogs -- fine *

You need permits for almost all the animals. One permit will be enough for all the animals listed without a star. The star (asterisk) animals do not need a permit in NJ. It's not my place or intention to tell you what to get or keep as pets but your list seems eclectic. Some of the animals your getting grow quite large and have special needs. If you have the space, time, experience to keep these animals then by all means go ahead. Otherwise, take a good hard look at your list and review your reasons for getting the animals you've listed. Take care,
Robert Sposato
