Hello,
Here are some more recent photos of my Collared Lizard vivarium and some specs.
Size: 48" x 16.5 x 18" high 1/2 inch glass sides, 3/4" thick aluminum plate bottom.
Lighting: Two 55 watt compact flourescent 5300K tubes, One 100w Flood Active UVheat, One 75 watt halogen on a proportional thermostat.
Three hide/egglaying spots that are easily accessable by overturning the flat rocks.
No undertank heating as 2 of the hidespots are against the back glass that recieves heat from the lights which transfers some heat down into them.
Three haworthia plants and two Sanseveria plants in glad plastic tubs with 1/2 tubing inserted down into soil and capped and covered with sand to hide them for watering.
Oak trim, hood and carpentry with doors for stereo underneath.
Colorado rose sandstone rocks were purchased from a quarry
Sand is Home Depots Playsand
The tank sits high in my living room so you dont have to stoop down to look into it.
So because of this when you sit on a couch there was glare from all of the intense light
So I constructed 1.5 " wide Aluminum strips to make an eggcrate on the screen top to cut glare.

I want to share some of the things that I have discovered thoughout the several years of evolution that this cage went through.
I am very proud of this cage and I am happy the way it turned out.

Regards,
John Styner
