I have a friend who lives in Sparta in Sussex Co. and he has seen a population of them in one location consistently in the past for many years but lately he hasn't seen them. They were on an old granite wall the kind that farmers used to make to make boundarys.
I have seen them in the Pine Barrens of souther NJ on 3 separate occasions and was able to catch them once. I have caught several Ground Skinks (Scincella lateralis) in the barrens also.

Acording to the NSFG,five-lined skinks should be in Sussex county. Has anybody ever located any? I would like to find some to photograph. Any help would be apreciated. thanks, CH
