As for NIAD pamphlets, try the main NIAD web site. I have an info sheet at my web site, which you can modify if you don't live in Ohio.
If any of the iguanas are really sick, you could point out to the owners that it will be difficult to sell an obviously sick lizard, and that you would like to help nurse it back to health. If they allow you to bring in your own iguana to show them how a healthy iguana looks, this might help. You may have more luck at a small pet store like that than you would at a chain pet store.
I have a very basic care sheet that I could email to you if you'd like. You could make copies for the pet store to hand out with the iguanas they sell, and it might have some info they can use at the store to. It is just very basic. My vet looked it over and said all the info looked good.
