Hi Nancy.
Well actually a large home-made habitat is fairly cheap to build!!! Assuming you ahve the proper lights and heaters some ideas are:
1. A wire cage with 1by 1's for the frame, both wire and wood is cheap! And you can make it more heating efficent by covering the wire on the outside, side with clear plastic such a painting tarps.
2. A large closet can be easily converted, LARGE walk-ins that is...by replacing the wooden door with screening, and putting up proper lighting and heating fixtures. Branchesm and shelves for climbing.
3. A nice *TEMPERARY* solution until then could be a *Large* dog crate turned, or not, for the iggy to live in until his new home comes about.
4. Another thing to think about is that if you have no other pets, and a fairly organized household you can easily set up basking areas and allow your iguana to be a free roamer in a certain room, or two. It is a great alternative to caging if you have the proper home.
