I have had an iguana for three years. She was about 2-3 years when I took her from a friend who was not giving her the proper care. She's been thriving and growing and has out grown her large aquarium/terrarium. A few months ago I gave her her own room with shelves, new UV light on a timer, warm place (ceramic heater), cooler dark spot, a screened window where she can bask in natural light. After spending her day obsessing about getting out, she goes into the basement where it is too cold for herEvery year about this time she stops eating and goes bonkers to escape! I couldn't believe that she opened the screen door and was found two blocks away. . I've been letting her soak in the bath tub and continue to feed her her favorite foods, but she is not responding. Any suggestions?
