I went to the IRBA show in Costa Mesa on Sunday. I talkd with this fellow
from NRAAC and unfortunately, he didn't know very much about NRAAC as being
non profit or what not. I'll email Pete Kuhn and Jeff Barringer a little
later since I have other to chat with them, such as suggestions of local chapter
meetings and what not.
I also got approached to do a talk about green iguanas and the issues of them
being disposal pets. I bumped into the president of a local herp society; I had met
him less than a year ago when Adam Britton was down in Los Angeles and I (and
Meriday Beth) brought him to the herp society meeting for a croccie talk. Anyways,
he wrangled me :) He's talking presentation, slides, etc! I told him I'm better
doing one-on-one or workshops but he suggested maybe getting a group of myself
and fellow iguana owners and do a group presentation! Sounds like also another
good method for promoting NIAD!
Went on a buying frenzy! Picked up a FolkTails iguana puppet, neocalclugon,
some RepCal iguana food (as dessert for Vega$), Mader's Reptile Medicine and
Surgery book, and Klingberger's Reptile Parasitology book. I went thru Mader's
book last night; great book!!!! Jamie...a must for your future vet library!
Enuff yapping from me,
Des. :)
