: I was wondering why my ig doesn't drink his water. I have a water bowl for him with fresh water in it everyday. I have never seen hin drink it. I've had him for 4 weeks now. When I feed him I usually put some water with his food. How can I get him to drink?

Don't worry too much (too much being the key words). Often, iguanas don't drink directly from their water bowls, but rather collect their water from fruits and vegetables. Some iguanas are known to drink directly on a regular basis,
but, of course this varries from iguana to iguana. Ensure that you have high humidity in the air (by running a humidifier and leaving large bowls of water in the enclosure). Another way to prevent dehydration is to spray him/her with
water or soak him/her in the bath tub on a daily basis. This will help your iggy from becoming dehydrated.

It is also a good idea to keep on wetting his veggies with water when you feed him like you have been. Keep up the good work!
