I think the best thing we can do right now is get a sponsor - as Cristine has said she is having trouble getting people to work in her state.
Well, I am the national coordinator and I am seeing this trend all over the country. The best states so far seem to be Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, and
Ohio (not because of me). Under the sponsorship program we could sell shirts on the national and state level. With every shirt $1 goes to national
niad and if you choose to sell them individually you can make money for your state. Unfortunately, I got such a good deal on the shirts because I bought
150 of them. If you buy like 15 of them, you are up to a base price of over $8.50 per shirt. When you add on $1 for national niad that does not leave much
for the states. But, if we can spend our first year marketing niad, selling things under the sponsorship, checking out details - then next year we can
concentrate on truly setting up niad as an organization. Right now, due to low productivity by most of the over 100 volunteers and the newness of it all,
I would be afraid to put more into it. I do know that activity will pick up closer to the time - but that will only be seen later. If niad bombs in its first
year I would hate to see all the time and money go to waste.

So this is my position. I personally will not even bother with non-profit status until next year - except for the sponsorship. By then I will (hopefully) be out
of school and in another state. I don't want to start anything that will keep me here in Ohio (especially because of iguanas).

Thanks - have a nice day
