Local News Segment

Ok, Here is an idea. Don't know if it is going to work or not but I thought I would try. Then I figured even if it didn't work for me someone else might be able to try with their local news and it might work for them.

One of our local stations has a weatherman that does a special segment on the Saturday 4:00 news. It is called pet parade. He brings on an animal from the local SPCA that is up for adoption and spends a minute of two promoting it and the SPCA. I know that stations in other areas must have something similar as I lived in the San Franciso Bay Area and Sacramento and they both did.

I e-mailed him, explained who I was, and asked him if he would please consider promoting our cause for his pet parade segment on September 11th. I directed him to the NIAD site to view the pictures. I am hoping for a positive response, maybe the opportunity to discuss iguanas as pets and their proper care. I would be satisfied if all he did was bring on an ig up for adoption from the local SPCA (I know they always have a least one at any given time) rather than the usual dog or cat.

Here is hoping this works!
