confusing ID

:Saw a thin salamander, about 3-4 inches long, retreated too fast into the under-rock soil before I could photo him. He was shimmery gold/bronze colored. found in southwestern NY, wondering what it could be. Found in an area amongst darker-colored slimy salamanders


It sounds like a Two Lined to me....at least here....which is just east of you that is what I have found two lines like.
