My daughter was cleaning out our swimming pool to open it for the season ( we live in Northern Michigan) and she found an egg sac. We first thought frog, but after looking on the internet we discovered it belongs to a salamander. We also found the salamander but we can not find an identifying pictures. It is black with yellow marks, is aquatic, and has both front and rear legs. The egg sac is a clear gel-like substance with black eggs the size of pepper corns. What have we found here and she wants to know if she can keep the salamander in a tank and also if she puts the eggs in there will they hatch? Please help.
Thank You
