It's a skink of some type, looks like a young one too. Go to the library and check out a field guide. See what lives in that area on the maps. Then use deductive reasoning to figure what it is. Small skinks have different colors than adults many times. It will eat bugs. If you want a pet lizard, turn that one loose and buy a bearded dragon, much less hassle! Chuck
