Slug eaters tend to be specialists. I know some garters eat them however there are a lot of different kinds of slugs. And of these many will have different defense mechanisms such as in their slime. A hungry snake in a closed system (like a terrarium) may not have the options that an "in the wild" snake will have. For example; tracking/hunting the slug over various terrain which MIGHT clue it in to a toxic potential. This is purely theoretical but personally, I wouldn't try it.
