I have not yet had a chance to review the page you offered but this thiaminaze problem like any is a question of moderation.
The thing about "minnows" is that unless you research each species you don't know what you've got. Goldfish, koi, carp, etc. are all cyprinidae and in the minnow family. If I have lost snakes to this deficiency I wasn't aware of it. However I try to provide a variety (though erratic) as much as I can. This means maybe months of goldfish, then a few guppies, then some trout. Lately mostly trout but the little guys still get more goldfish because I don't have trout their size.
Best thing you can do is go fishing (with little hooks) and get sunfish or catfish, fresh and preferably alive and feed these for as long as you can get them. Then balance with whatever else.
