I'd be careful feeding them together in the same cage. Once they get started eating, they may try to eat the same fish, meet in the middle, and snake eats snake. A friend had a pair that both died as a result of unsupervised feeding- the slightly larger snake choked on the smaller snake. Not pretty! If you feed them in separate containers it solves the substrate issue as well.
