They are from a female caught in central Iowa. I didn't originally think I would keep any of them but now I'm thinking of keeping the two red-est and the two grey-est just to see what the off-spring would look like. There's really a lot of interesting variation in Nerodia - some have nearly perfect banding while others have very irregular blotches. Of course their ventral patterns are very varied as well. To me Nerodia are much more interesting than about 90% of whats popular in the trade these days...
