My snake Id that I thought turned out to be a northern water snake, actually is a juvenile blotched water snake. I finally found a pic in a book at the vet school and it looks exactly like the picture.
Question, I've never kept a water snake before though I have lots of experience with rat snakes and garters . . . Any specific differences that I would need for a water snake habitat other than the obviously larger body of water? Do they need UV light, heat rocks, etc . . . ?
thanks,
erin
