Yes in Denmark this subspecies normally are totally black with only the yellow/whitish neckspots... over most other parts of its distribution the bodycolour is more grayish.
By the way my helvetica is doing fine... eating nicely... and will have 3 new roommates in about a month (same subspecies of course)

:Very cool! Are they usually that dark in your area? I really like how the neck ring is retained in that individual as well. Too bad there aren't more people keeping them in the US. Definitely a species I'd like to keep someday.
