I went out to Lake Jackson this afternoon and found a large Banded Water snake basking on the edge of one of the ponds. I nearly stepped on it! I would have taken some pics but it escaped into the water before I could even try to catch it. Oh well. It was up in the low 70s today though...nice and warm in the sun!
