I've only had slight thiaminase problems when I fed frozen/thawed fish to my snakes. To combat this, I feed them live fish whenever possible (and avoid goldfish). I also give my snakes f/t scented mice a couple times a month. Watersnakes are completely capable of digesting entire rodents and pinkies comprise most of my Gulf Salt Marsh Watersnakes' diet.
