Here is another method. Waters normally rely less on scent their their garter snake counterparts. They often react to movement in the water, well wild caught ones at least. Mine will take anything I offer so long as I suspend it above the waterbowl and swirl it initially around in the dish to stimulate the waters interest. Once in the dish, if you move the mouse along the sides of the water snake, it stimulates a feeding response as waters in the wild wait for fish to brush against they sides and then open their mouths and cut it through the water. This has worked with me for many specimens. Andy
