John V. Rossi (1992) reports that heating frozen fish to 80 degrees Celcius (not Fahrenheit!) for 5 min will destroy the thiaminase. That's pretty hot. I'll have to try it and see what happens to the fish. They might get a bit cooked but hopefully the snakes won't mind.
