In Reply to: So what is everybody's Nerodia collection here? posted by Pierson on October 18, 2002 at 13:22:43:
I have had several different Nerodia in the past, and currently have a few. Here goes.
0.1 N. rhombifera (Neonate I picked up at Tampa a month ago)
0.2 N. floridana (This girl is destined for freedom if I don’t find a mater for her!)
1.2 N. f. pictiventris (juveniles I collected near my home, love these guys)
And keeping with the trend of listing everything
1.0 T. s. sirtalis (Florida Blue garter, I had him a mate for him and let her go the night I found him!)
1.0T. marcianus (Checkered Garter tha I left at my old college ;)
2.1 E. guttata
1.0 E. taineuria (Blue Beauty Snake born the day I got married!)
0.1 E, notaeus (Y. Anaconda, the ultimate water snake!)
1.0 B. constrictor imperator
1.0 A. contortrix (Caught his mother in 99 and she dropped 8 babies, let all the babies go along with their mother except for 2 neonates)
1.1Candoia aspera
And now for things other than snakes.
1.1Chelydra serpentina
1.0 T. c. carolina
1.0 Side necked turtle from New Guinea of which I have no idea what sp. It is.
0.1 Varanus timoriensis
When you type out your collection like this you truly realize how far over your head you are!! Oh well, wouldn’t have it any other way. In the past I have also kept the following, including sp. from above.
N. s. sipedon, N. f. confluens, N. f. pictiventris, N. e. erythrogaster, N. r. rhombifera,
N. floridana and that’s about it. Would love to get my hands on some taxis and clarki. Someday!!
