:Hi there,

:If your really interested in a monitor the best suggestion that I can give to you is read as much as you can get your hands on. Read care sheets to see which monitor fits best in your life, what you can afford. Make sure this is something that you can truely handle. Some monitor species live an excess to 25 years! Could you own a monitor for 7, 12, 20 years? Nobody on here can say what's best for you, only you can do that.
:Snakes and Geckos are nothing like a monitor. They are too different worlds entirely. Start small work your way up. Ackies make the best started lizards. They stay small and have great personalities.
:As far as the "dog tame" BS, those are two words that shouldn't be used. Monitors are NEVER tame. I personally break the keeper rules when it comes to my own lizards they are handled everyday. But I started that as babies and still continue the handling.
:I'm sure you've heard all this already but I thought I would share.
:Good luck in your search.
:Christine :>~

the both of you..D and Christine.....thanks for all your posts...billy
