I haven't seen that issue of reptiles magazine, so I don't know where the tuatara enclosure in the article is, but tuatara enclosures I have seen in institutions here have usually been refrigerated. Lethal temperature for tuataras is well below optimum temperature for monitors, so even on a reasonably warm day they may die without refrigeration. That's how they avoid 'ant in magnifying glass' (greenhouse would be a better analogy) syndrome.

:Frank..
:I think you did not take that post in the positive spirit in which it was intended.

:BTW, Did you see that large glass display enclosure for tuatara in a recent reptiles magazine?
:I would like to see that design up close to discover why the tuatara did not suffer "ant in magnifying glass" syndrome in that set up.
:Any thoughts on enclosures like that?

:: p.s. In the past you always said, reproduction was not a sign of success, now you seem to be leaning on it to support your husbandry.
:Umm.. you must have messed me up with someone else on that one...... I never said reproduction "was not a sign of success"

:You know, my husbandry is "cutting edge"....
:I think you said that once.
:Maybe in 100 years I'll be proven right.
:Cheers.
:Todd G.
