You will quickly find out, that most US breeders, do not use any UV light at all, I for one believe have tried it and have seen absolutely NO difference in the animals, in my opinion, it is nothing more than a marketing plow.


:Just wondered if anyone has any thoughts on this? I have my young ackies in 24"x12"x15" high all glass vivariums. These vivs have fine grade wire mesh tops. My UV tubes are mounted in a lighting hood approx 12" above the run of vivs. My question is, do you think the wire mesh tops will stop too much UV? Ideally I would have the lights within the vivs but with 10, 24" vivs it's easier to use 48" tubes cover 2 vivs each. I would be grateful for your thoughts.
