:i caught my first Eastern Milk today!!! i was so excited. i got in my car and ran to tell my girlfriend, but then i saw an Eastern Garter someone had just hit. i stopped and got it. it was still breathing and moving around, but it didn't make it. one minute i was so pumped up and then i felt like crying. i live in Bedford County, Virginia. anybody have any luck with wild Eastern Milks? i want to keep it, but if it doesn't eat i'll have to let it go. what's the best thing to try and feed it? how long should i wait before feeding it? thanks for the advice and enjoy the pic!
I have kept many eastern milksnakes, They are my favorite, I usually try a frozen fuzzy thawed after about a week or so. If this doesn't work I start scenting it, first with a garter snake skin, but I have tried other things and they sometimes work, salamanders, frogs, anoles, if that doesnt work try braining and scenting, try different times of night adjust temps lower them be ceative an usually they will eat good luck with it
