:I went herping once years ago. I caught two CA Kings and an aligator lizard. I never once had a problem getting the kings to eat. I'm crossing my fingers that you have the same luck.
:I'd wait for 5 days to a week before I offer food but don't be surprised if he rejects the food for 2 weeks or so. Like any snake, the change in environment usually makes them too uneasy to eat. I'd also start with something small; probably mice are best. :)
:PS. If you don't want him, you can send him to me. *winky, winky*
::i caught my first Eastern Milk today!!! i was so excited. i got in my car and ran to tell my girlfriend, but then i saw an Eastern Garter someone had just hit. i stopped and got it. it was still breathing and moving around, but it didn't make it. one minute i was so pumped up and then i felt like crying. i live in Bedford County, Virginia. anybody have any luck with wild Eastern Milks? i want to keep it, but if it doesn't eat i'll have to let it go. what's the best thing to try and feed it? how long should i wait before feeding it? thanks for the advice and enjoy the pic!
