To them room temp. is just fine. I know how he feels I just found my male albino prarie king 2wks ago after he was out 10 mos. he brumated & everything somewhere in my basement. I was going to get a snake bag to carry my albino hondo. in & looked down to see him basking near one of my monitor cages.
I had a monitor out for a short time around his adventure so I left the floodlight low enough for it to bask. the snake never came out. he finally came out when it hit 45 up here in Philly PA. . I've found more escapees in my dirty laundry then anywhere else. Unfortunately one hypo female hondo was already
washed before being found.
