I freeze anoles for at least a week before i offer them to reluctant-feeder pyros. The theory is that that's long enough to kill parasites in the lizards. Others theorize the parasite eggs are quite hardy and could survive that regimen.
Regardless, it's a safety precaution, as is doing a fecal test maybe once a year on otherwise healthy snakes that have been fed snakes or lizards (my vet tells me the parasites in mammals are mammal specific and won't afflict reptiles). If I had a pyro that was struggling in any way--suspect looking fecals, or inadequate appetite, anything like that--and noticed that it was one that had been fed frozen anoles, i'd have a fecal tested.
