:In the wild, a snake may take a number of years to get to adult size. Of course it may depend on food availability during those years, but the point is that these snakes eventually do reach adult sizes, and it doesn't need to happen within 2 years. I had a king that was "underfed" (by our terms anyway, but in the wild it may be the normal) by the previous owner, and it grew to a nice healthy size over the next 3 years, making the snake about 5 years old before it approached 4ft. In fact, he was breeding like a champ at 12 years old, so obviously the slow start didn't hurt his potential. Possibly he would have been a little larger if fed alot from the start, but health-wise he was perfect and certainly not a dwarf.
