:I don't know the word for it, but I'm pretty sure a few genes go into making a honduran tangerine. It's not a definite yes or no trait. It's like a person being black. I'm white, and if I married a black woman, my kids would be tannish, not some white and some black. Then say my kids also met black mates, and their kids, etc. How many generations would go by before my great-great-great-etc. grandchildren would be considered black?
:I don't know if you're into corn snakes, but okeetee's are like that too. They're just selectively bred normal snakes, originally from a specific area. However, the term okeetee now means a normal corn snake with bright colors and strong black borders.
:A tangerine is a honduran selectively bred (by us or nature) to have paler red rings and stronger white rings until they look near the same color.
:Oh, and if I'm horribly wrong, then I apologize. I'm pretty sure that's it though.
:If you bred a tangerine and tricolor together, I believe you'd get either a messy tricolor or a bad tangerine.
