First off, we are talking of two naturaly occuring color phases, one is not selectively bred to produce the other. When you breed a tangerine to a tri-color, you would normaly produce 1/2 of both color phases and from what i've produced, the tangerines seems to always outnumber the tri-c's in those clutches, some of the tri-color specimens do get the tangerine influence, mostly on the head/neck bands and past the vent.
