hi marisa, it wouldnt hurt just to have a stool sample done at the vet(35.00)just to get him checked out for parasites. however it is common for male cal kings even if not brumated to go off of feed especially their second year. its like an internal clock change of seasons. if he was eating last month is not starving. i've had male cal kings not brumated go off feed for 2 months in the spring because all they wanted to do is breed , even though i had no females at the time, so its normal. it could actually be possible that he is going to shed soon, does the skin look a little dry or loose, may be having trouble with shed. another factor is that depending on where you live the heat in your house and the tank heater, makes things very dry, and sometimes the temp climbs in the tank, it amay be too hot, sometimes thos thermo temp besides the digital ones are not so accurate, try to feed him again, sounds gross, but maybe cut the mouse a litte(if frozen)so is bleeds or place it under a heat lamp not for too long, tease him a little with it,and he may just be temped to strike, however if he still doesnt eat in about 2 weks, them try the vet, wouldnt hurt, thanks dave

:My 01 california kingsnake stopped eating about a month and a half ago. I haven't worried at all because I know kings sometimes do this even when not brumated (mine is not burmated) but I took him out the other day and he seems thinner and slightly baggy if you know what I mean. He is very active, but has no interest in food. Like I said he is not being brumated and his temps are in the mid eighties range on the hot side.

:Can I break his fast any way? I wouldn't worry about the not eating if he wasn't losing weight. but he is.
