One thing you might want to try for a picky hatchling. I get live pinkies and feed them to picky eaters. I dont know why, but the movement and maybe the stronger smell of a live newborn pink just pushes the snakes feeding response over the edge to want to eat. Has worked for me. Maybe give it a try. And good luck.

Glad to hear your snake ate. The only concern I would have though would be feeding a snake a food item that has saliva from another snake. That is a good way to transfer parasites, viruses, or bacteria from one animal to another. If I have any food items left from a feeding, I always just pitch them.

:Last week, my sinaloan took it's first f/t pinky in months. (I swear it ate one when I first got it, but since then, no luck). Thing is, this pinky was spat out earlier by my fl. king. I didn't want to waste the pinky, so I stuck in in w/ the milk - half covered in sticky saliva. Within a 1/2 hour, it was being eaten. All other times I've offered a f/t pinkie, the snake ignores it, this week included. Was the kingsnake saliva the reason the snake ate the pinky?
