I didn't want to waste the pinky, so I stuck in in w/ the milk - half covered in sticky saliva. Within a 1/2 hour, it was being eaten. All other times I've offered a f/t pinkie, the snake ignores it, this week included. Was the kingsnake saliva the reason the snake ate the pinky?

It could have been that there was blood on the pinkie. Sometimes the smell of blood triggers a feeding response.
