: I just bought two male S. sthenodactylus. I've only had them for a few days. I haven't been able to get them to eat yet. I've tried really small pinhead crickets, but they just lick them. The pet store where I got them had just got them in that day and didn't know what they were, little alone a thing about their care. I identified what they are and that they come from Israel. The care part I'm not so sure about. I've got them set up individually in plastic shoe boxes. They are on newspaper, and they hide under loose sheets of the paper. They're active and don't show any signs of illness (they are a bit thin, but I think its probably due to being shipped around and neglected more than anything.) I'm looking for any information on this diminutive species.
: Especially info on captive care, but I'd also appreciate any natural history info you might have

:
: Thanks,

Hi WES!
First of all, before i will write about the captive care, i would like to inform you that all reptile in Israel are under protection BY LAW!!!
If it realy came from Israel, then the one how exported them is a bastard criminal & also son of a bitch!!!
However, It is not your fault & these geckoes are very common in the south & in the coastal plane in Israel. I hope that you can give me Information about who sold it to the pet shop for the care information.
The best way to keep them is in a terarium with 2.5 inches of dune sand. you nead to wet small area of the send & put a small pice of flat wood on it. they can dig & hide under it.
these geckoes are active by night & will show out only after the sun is going down ( accept of the begining of the spring when they get up from brumation).
they live on insects only includ meal warms, wax warms, SMALL crickets small cockroachs & flies magots.
as you said you have 2 males so there is no chance for breading. If you want information about it write back.
please try to finde where did they realy came from & who sold them to the pet shop.
Adios amigo!
RAZY
