We have 2 diffrent SP' of tortois in Israel.
One is Testudo Kleinmanni & the other is Testudo graeca. The latter probably have 4 SSP' in Israel alone. We have one (or 2) SP' of turtles. One is Mauremys caspica rivulata & the other (probably extinct) is Emys orbicularis. we also have soft shel's like Trionyx triunguis.
Finally we have all sp' of mediteranian sea turtles (about 5 sp')
I hope i helped you (use the latino name)

: : Nothing in particular. Just trying to hunt down some turtle/tortoise sites from that region. Closest I have is one from Greece. Trying to make a decent list of international turtle/tortoise related websites. I was hoping to find the local language for their names. It would help in local search engine queries. I'll be stocking up on translation dictionaries soon to help out. Thanks for the help though!
