One is a slow wave with the tail up in air, waving like an undulating flag. Females can do this anytime they feel threatened. When they do it to other geckos, it is a warning-stya away. Sometimes females will do this to males if they are not ready to mate.
The second type of "wag" is the tail vibration that often occurs right before they pounce on a cricket. Both males and females do this. Females do NOT vibrate their tail at a male.
Also, a male's tail vibration that he does when he wants to mate with a female makes a noise. When a gecko vibrates their tail before they pounce on a cricket it is a silent vibration.
:Okay I know that a Male will vibrate his tail when he is in the mood, but what does a female do with theirs? My girl did a wave and kept it going for about 2 minutes. I was putting her food in with her. This is the first time I have seen her so this. Any answers are appreciated!!! Thanks all!!
