I keep mine almost identical to Ross's method without the oranges though. If you find some bran and chick starter pellets and eliminate any old fruit in the container as soon as its eaten or almost dried you can eliminate the smell most of the time. Just try and not sour the bran and chick starter. Another thing that works as well is using some alfalpha pellets.
