Newly Adopted Box Turtles..Help with ID?

I already had a Kingsnake account so I just kept my current name. This is Melanie V by the way.
I found out the Friday after Isidore hit that some of my neighbors had 2 box turtles that are in suprisingly good health considering they had lived in water and ate only bread for the past 6 months or more. I volunteered to adopt them and give them the care they deserved. It's been about 6 years since I've had any land species, and I'm thinking they are subspecies of Eastern box turtles, but I'm not for certain. The lighter colored one is the male and the darker on is the female
They are both eating well right now, eating a variety of lettuces(excluding iceberg), strawberries, a few bites of commerical cat chow and some bell pepper. I've got some of their pictures on the webpage I have for them, URL listed below
